One of Solon Springs most attractive features is its Forest. The Douglas County Forest is over 280,000 acres in size, making it the largest county forest in Wisconsin. It offers an abundance of recreation opportunities and breathtaking views.
Lucius Woods County Park is located in the center of the village and on the banks of the Beautiful Upper Lake St. Croix. There are a variety of fun filled adventure for the entire family in Lucius Woods, including swimming, camping, canoeing, picnicking, hiking, or simply relaxing on the beach.
The Beautiful 855 acre Lake St.Croix is very popular for fishing, boating and water-skiing. There are several boat landings in the village allowing easy access to the lake.
Just a short drive from the greatest of the great lakes and all that Lake Superior has to offer, yet the geographic location of Solon Springs makes it a great escape from the cooler "lake effect" temps of the Duluth/Superior area. It is not uncommon to find temps. 20 to 30 degrees warmer much of the spring and well into summer.
While planning your stay at Solon Springs be sure to check out the Solon Springs Historical Museum. this is a highly recommended tourist stop. The museum features the history of the local timber industries, Railroad, and Water Bottling company in which the town was named.
