these items can be disposed at the facility by all Douglas County Residents.
Appliances --- $10.00 each
Furniture --- $8.00 each
Tires --- $2.00 each, price increases if on rim or larger tire
Fluorescent Tubes -- 40 cents for 4' tubes/ 60 cents for 8' tubes
Recycle items should be co-mingled as stated below in two separate bins:
Bin #1 #1 plastic containers: glass bottles & jars: metal cans & foil: and paper milk & juice cartons. Please remember to: Rinse clean: Remove labels from cans only: Aerosol cans must be emptied (remove tip from can, do not puncture empty aerosols); Clean aluminum cans and foil: Remove straws from juice boxes; Glass containers only (window glass, ceramics, etc. is not accepted)
Bin#2 Magazines; phone books; junk mail; catalogs; cereal boxes; 12 & 24 pack cartons are acceptable. Please remember what is not accepted:
Photos; Carbon paper; Tissue paper; Paper towels; Paper plates; Notebooks.
All Cardboard must be flatten and placed on the table to be baled.
Beginning January 1, 2008 anyone that is 55 years old or older can receive a reduced rate of $26.00 a quarter rather than the regular rate of $32.00 a quarter. you must provide proof that you are 55 years old or older to receive the reduced rate. please call (715) 378-2235 and talk to the secretary or stop in at the office at the Solon Springs Community Center.
