Stroll the flower bordered streets downtown, swim in warm lake waters, cast a lure for northern or trout, slip a paddle into the water and canoe down a quiet river.
In winter go cross country skiing along groomed woodland trails, fire up the snowmobile and set off into the country side, grab your ice skates and head to the pond. Whatever the season, whatever is pleasing you'll find plenty to renew your spirts and quicken your heart.
Lake St. Croix
Lake St.Croix is Solon Springs greatest asset. And provides an abundance of recreation. located at the source of the Brule and the St. Croix Rivers, both renowned historic and scenic waterways. Landings for half-day or day-long canoe trips are a short drive away.
*Public boat launch
A new boat launch conveniently located on main street in the village of Solon is now in place and is handicap accessible. Another launch can be found on County Rd. A in the town of Solon Springs. This property also includes restrooms and a picnic area.
*Pontoon and boat rentals
Relax and enjoy a summer day on the lake. Pontoon Rentals are available through the St. Croix Inn and the
Soft Pines Resort.
*Ice Fishing
Ice Fishing on Lake St. Croix is a popular sport for many locals and Winter enthusiasts. The Lions Club hosts an ice fishing tournament every winter.
*Park Creek Pond
While the adults fish the big lake kids have the opportunity to do a little fishing of there own at the youth fishing pond. The 11 acre pond is stocked with trout and the Lions Club holds an annual fishing contest here each spring. Park Creek Pond is located in the heart of the village.
*Lucius Woods

offers summer fun for the entire family. there is swimming at the public beach, a playground, picnic area's, camping and a self guided nature walk along Park Creek. Park entrance on Marrion Ave. Just off business highway 53 in the Village.
*Atv/Snowmobling
If you are looking for a fun-filled place to ride, Northwestern Wisconsin is the place to be! Numerous trails with varied terrain await enthusiastic riders.
The Forestry Department(pdf) oversees the development and maintenance of 300 miles of snowmobile and seasonal ATV trails. The Wild Rivers trail
runs through Solon Springs and 104 miles from Douglas county into Washburn and Barron counties. A detailed recording of updated trail conditions can be heard by calling 715-378-4528.
*Skate Park & Basketball Court
Located between Dairy Queen and the Community Center on business 53. Kids will find fun at the Skateboard Park and pick up a game of Basketball. The game wont end at sunset this court includes lights for those evening games. and a shelter in case of unexpected weather.
*Solon Springs Ball Park
Get a game going or practice your hitting at this well maintaned baseball field. Located on the east side of business 53. Home of the St.Croix Ravens and the annual Bob Prevost & Steve Williams Cancer Benifit softball tournament.
*Hidden Greens North
For those seeking a round of excellent golf, nestled amoung the pines you'll find this 18 hole, par 72 golf course.

*Hiking/Backpacking
Grab your walking sticks and hiking boots and set out to discover the beauty of the north woods. Views of the Brule and St. Croix headwaters highlight hikes along the historic portage trail. The

Runs directly through the town and village of Solon Springs. the new Brule boardwalk is nearing completion parking can be found near County Rd.A on the east side of lake St. Croix
*Hunting
Hundreds of acres of County and State Forest land surrounding Solon Springs provide opportunity for many visitors who enjoy hunting wild game and birds. Be sure to check with local land managers to learn which land is available for public use.
*Bird & Wildlife Viewing
The Bird Sanctuary, officially known as the Douglas County Wildlife Management Area and located directly in Solon Springs. The 4,000 acre property is home to a number of birds and is one of the best sharp-tailed grouse habitats in Wisconsin. Other wildlife includes a timber wolf pack, black bear, coyote and more. Visit

*Cross Country Skiing
Over 10 miles of groomed ski trails await you. just 2 miles south of the Village of Solon. Excellent viewing and photo opportunities along the St.Croix river and pine forests.
